Gymnastics is widely renowned as a sport that can improve overall fitness, strength, balance, and body control, as well as helping to improve athletic performance in any other sport. Gymnastics classes provide many additional cognitive and psychological benefits.
ABOUT PARKOUR
Traceur is a person who takes part in Parkour and Free Running. Parkour is an urban art/discipline which involves traceurs overcoming obstacles. Using loads of skills such as running, jumping, vaulting, leaps, catches and precision jumps. PARKOUR HERMANUS was established at Gym Genies in November 2020.
ABOUT US
Gym Genies was established in September 2016 by Madelein Wrigley who had a life long dream to start an independent Artistic Gymnastics Club in Hermanus. In November 2020 Gym Genies started Parkour Hermanus, a branch of our Gym dedicated to the disipline of parkour for both competitors and recreational enthusiasts of the sport. Come visit us at our beautiful venue nestled between the mountains and the banks of the Vermont Salt Pan.

Gym Genies Gymnastics Club is privately owned and open to all children and youths in the Overberg area who wish to compete or just have fun.

Our passionate team of coaches and judges are registered with GSA-Gymnastics South Africa with many years of experience and knowledge to share.

Gym Genies is a proud member of Gymnastics South Africa, Western Cape Gymnastics Association and the Overberg Sports Council.
Apparatus
Here at Gym Genies we have a fully equipped facility with all the necessary apparatus needed for our young gymnasts to excel in gymnastics.

ARTISTIC GYMNASTICS (WAG & MAG)
We have four gymnastics divisions in the club.
Twisters
Age 4 - 6
Pre School gymnasts learn through play the basics of gymnastics. We evaluate gymnasts using GSAb s Kid X programme. Practices are educational and fun!
Gym Stars
Recreational
Recreational and noncompetitive gymnastics. We follow GSA Fun Gym and Levels programme. Practices are fast moving, teaches commitment, builds confidence and self-esteem.
Gym Flares
Recreational - Advance
Recreational and noncompetitive for our more advance gymnasts that does not compete in Western Cape competitions.
Gym Genies
Competitive
Boys and girls from Level 1-4+. Courage, determination, and pride is what we focus on. Successful gymnast receives their Overberg Colours. Level 4+ and up will represent the Western Cape Team at Gym Games.

Competitive parkour is for all students from level 1 - 4+. We compete in Free Style and Speed Run. Successful traceurs will receive their Overberg Colors. Level 4+ and up will represent the Western Cape Team at Gym Games.

Category B members can be moved up to Category E or A at any time.
2024 Competitive (Overberg Team) gymnasts must be registered by 15 March 2025.
